MB ChB MRCGP (1976) Dr Lynch graduated from Manchester University in 1976 and joined the practice as a partner in 1983. He offers a full range of general practice care and has special interest in child health, diabetes and dermatology.

Dr Rose qualified from Leicester University in 2002. She joined the practice in 2009 and recently became a partner.

Her specialist interests include women’s health, family planning, asthma, COPD and other respiratory conditions.

MBBS (2000) Dr Gouges offers a full range of general practice care to her patients and has been with the surgery since 2006. She has special interest in mental health and child health.

Dr Ahluwalia has recently joined the practice and brings with him a variety of skills and special interests, which include minor surgery, joint injections, palliative care, ear, nose & throat (ENT) problems and diabetes.

Formerly a Community Matron within Blackpool, Lynn has many years experience working with people who have multiple long term health problems and supporting them to avoid hospital admission.  Lynn has a background in orthopaedic trauma and a special interest in women’s health, older adult’s health, falls prevention and osteoporosis.

She is a fully-qualified prescribing nurse and will see patients and give advice in the same way as our doctors do.

Debbie has worked at Adelaide Street practice for over 10 years. She specialises in diabetes and is a tutor on the X-pert diabetic education programme run nationally. She also has a special interest in sexual health and family planning services within primary care.

Jo has worked at both Adelaide Street and Harris Medical centre for almost four years now. Jo runs chronic disease clinics in our practice and specialises in diabetes and respiratory conditions. Since 2006 Jo has tutored on the Xpert structured education program for those patients in Blackpool with diabetes .

Julie has worked at the surgery for over five years now. She specialises in asthma and copd and enjoys this role very much. Her other interest is in palliative care.

RGN, RM, Diabetes Dip (2005), Dip Family Planning (2000).

Anne has worked across both practices for 2 years and runs chronic disease clinics as well as most general nursing clinics. She specialises in Family Planning and travel health.

Emma has recently (September 2010) joined the practice and operates as our triage nurse.

She spent over 8 years in Blackpool Victoria's A&E department and subsequently spent a year at the Same Day Health Centre in Fleetwood - so she is used to seeing all sorts of minor illnesses and injuries.

You may speak with Emma if you have been placed on our telephone triage list in the mornings. She also runs afternoon clinics 4 day a week, dealing with minor ailments, injuries and sexual health matters.

Mike arrived at the practice in June 2010 after spending 2 years as Business Manager for Pathfinder Healthcare Developments in Birmingham. Previous to this, he ran is own company and also worked as a senior manager for a PCT in the West Midlands.

Mike will be happy to help you with any administrative and non-medical aspects of the practice. Please ask to speak to him should you have any suggestions for improving our services

Sarah deals with most of the day-to-day aspects of keeping the practice running. She is also responsible for our IT systems and has first-line responsibility for handling patient praise and complaints.

Jill and Susan are our two senior receptionists and they have a team of 12 receptionists, split between the two practices, to ensure that your medical needs are served as effectively and efficiently as possible. Angie, Ann and Emma are our secretaries.

Please understand that our receptionists work according to the doctors' instructions. Their job is very demanding so please be patient. They are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses. Our staff always try to be courteous and we greatly value their contribution to the smooth running of the surgery.

Our patients are also looked after by other members of the primary healthcare team based in the community.

They are:

Health Visitors  - involved mainly with the related healthcare needs of expectant mothers, children, the elderly and physically disabled persons.

Midwives - who ensure the health of our expectant mothers

Community Matrons - help patients who require a lot of support and provide them with a choice about their care

District Nurses - who will continue your nursing care in your own home.

Psychiatric Nurses - who will look after the mental health of those patients referred to them by the doctor.
